Marijuana Raid Leads to 1 Arrest
A Ventura man was arrested on suspicion of growing marijuana and possessing it for sale.
Police arrested 30-year-old Danny Grant on Tuesday afternoon after serving a search warrant and discovering a “fairly large” marijuana plant in the backyard of his home at 3232 Preble Ave.
Inside, narcotics detectives and officers found several marijuana plants hanging in a bedroom to dry, along with a hidden attic room containing an exhaust fan, lighting and potting materials, police said.
Detectives seized about five pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $4,500.
After his arrest, police said, Grant said the marijuana was for his own personal use and denied that he intended to sell any of it.
