Former UCLA Players Set for Football Clinic
Two former UCLA football players will be on hand to share tips with kids at a free kick, pass and punt clinic and competition Sunday.
Children ages 7 to 15 are invited to Hansen Dam Sports Center, where they will compete to win tickets to the Nov. 21 UCLA-USC game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Three winners will be chosen.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., former quarterback Matt Stevens and former offensive lineman Tom Whitenight will be at the center at 11770 Foothill Blvd., said spokesman Josh Gertler. The event is sponsored by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Pacific Bell.
On Nov. 8, another three winners will be chosen at a similar football clinic in the Rancho Cienega Sports Center in Los Angeles, Gertler said.
Besides receiving tickets the winners will compete on the Rose Bowl field before the game to win autographed UCLA football gear, Gertler said.
Free refreshments will be served at the Lake View Terrace football clinic. Parents or guardians must sign authorization forms allowing their children to compete, Gertler said.
