Local TV Reporter Shot to Death
A local television reporter has been shot to death in Zihuatanejo, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, in a killing that appears to be related to stories he had covered, police said. Pedro Valle Hernandez, 28, was shot Thursday while sitting in his car. He was a correspondent in Zihuatanejo for Guerrero state’s TV and radio network. Police said they had ruled out robbery as a motive because Valle’s belongings were not touched. Witnesses said they saw two people running from the scene after the shooting. Valle’s colleagues said he had often been critical of Zihuatanejo officials.
