Humid Night, Hot Singing at Hollywood Bowl
After reading Mark Swed’s review of the Budapest Festival Orchestra’s Hollywood Bowl performance (“Love-Hate Relationship Adds Drama to Concerts,” Sept. 1), I felt inclined to write.
We attended the Friday performance and loved it! Andrea Rost was a little hesitant in the first part of the program but made up for it in the second part.
My question is: Where was Mark to hear “train whistles now and then”?
In all our years of attending the Hollywood Bowl, we’ve never experienced such dreadful weather. The humidity had us sticking to each other.
