Canyon 23, Camarillo 13--Drew Welch rushed for 107 yards in six carries, including a 76-yard touchdown, and Chris Escobar carried seven times for 31 yards, including scoring plays of six and eight yards for the Cowboys in a penalty-marred game at Camarillo.
The teams combined for 210 yards in penalties, with the Scorpions penalized 10 times for 120 yards. Canyon was penalized 10 times for 90 yards.
Steve Dacre had four receptions for 103 yards for Camarillo, including an 11-yard touchdown from Garrett Valencia. Valencia finished with seven completions in 18 passes for 133 yards.
Jason Geisler of Camarillo made two of three field goals, connecting from 27 and 23 yards and missing wide right from 35 yards after a bad snap.
