Seminar Offered on Domestic Violence
Hoping to educate the public about domestic violence, Moorpark College has scheduled a seminar Oct. 10.
The seminar--from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.--is expected to include short lectures on topics ranging from teen dating violence and power and control issues to signs to look for in a physically abusive relationship.
Nancy L. Regas, a teacher for the San Diego Unified School District, will be the keynote speaker.
Several domestic violence survivors will also speak at the event, which will tell the audience where to go for help and how to obtain a restraining order.
Those interested can apply at Moorpark College or register on-site at 7:30 a.m. in the campus administration office at 7075 Campus Road.
The cost to enroll is $6. In addition, the college charges an $11 health fee, and a $1 student representation fee, which can be waived upon request.
