Four Speakers Set for Murray Tribute

Among those who will speak Sept. 26 at the public memorial tribute to Jim Murray, Times sports columnist who died Aug. 16, are Vin Scully, Dodger broadcaster; Al Davis, Raider managing general partner; Chick Hearn, Laker broadcaster, and Al Michaels, network voice of “Monday Night Football.” Other speakers will be announced in the next few days.

The Saturday morning tribute, open to the public at no cost, will be at Dodger Stadium, starting at 10. The program is expected to last an hour and commemorative booklets of selected Murray columns will be distributed.

Only the Elysian Park entrance, Gate A, will be open for the ceremony. The Times asks that those wishing to attend confirm their attendance by calling (800) LATIMES, Ext. 72124.
