Man Slain, Brother Wounded in Carjacking
Police are investigating a carjacking that left one man dead and another one in the hospital, an Inglewood police spokesman said.
Kevin Mayfield, 21, was shot to death while he was in his car in a parking lot at Manchester and La Cienega boulevards Monday night, said Inglewood Police Officer Mike Weimer.
The slain man’s brother, Charles Mayfield, 24, was injured during the attack by three men who emerged from a small gray car, Weimer said. Charles Mayfield was hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday.
Kevin Mayfield’s 1997 Nissan Pathfinder was found by police in Hawthorne on Monday night. Anyone who saw or knows anything about the crime is asked to call Inglewood homicide detectives at (310) 412-5210.
