Dana Niguel Library to Be Renamed for City
The Dana Niguel Library will now be called the Dana Point Library, the City Council unanimously voted this week.
The library is at 33841 Niguel Road but is in Dana Point. Laguna Niguel’s branch, the Crown Valley Library, is at 30341 Crown Valley Parkway, within its city limits.
Dana Point made the change at the request of the Friends of the Dana Niguel Library, a volunteer and fund-raising group.
The group hopes the new name will increase community awareness of the library.
Last year, Friends of Dana Niguel Library raised more than $37,000. The group sells donated used books and gives the profits to the library.
