* Ball Road at Gilbert Street: Report of a reckless driver at 10:31 p.m. Monday.
BREA
* Randolph Avenue at East Birch Street: Police pulled over a Whittier resident on suspicion of drunk driving at 1:55 a.m. Monday.
BUENA PARK
* McComber Circle: A resident called police after finding something resembling a hand grenade in his desk at 1:08 p.m. Monday. The bomb squad took the device away.
COSTA MESA
* East 20th Street: A prowler fled from a location in the 100 block Sunday.
CYPRESS
* Holder Street: Report of an auto burglary in the 9000 block at 10:40 a.m. Friday.
DANA POINT
* Alcazar Drive: A robbery alarm in the 33000 block was triggered at 7:16 a.m. Tuesday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Newhope Street: It was discovered about 8:30 a.m. Saturday that someone had painted graffiti on trash bins, both sides of a baseball field and a block wall in the 16500 block.
FULLERTON
* South Pritchard Avenue: Report of an auto theft in the 100 block at 9:18 a.m. Friday.
GARDEN GROVE
* Garden Grove Boulevard at Fairview Avenue: Police arrested a man on suspicion of stealing a car and evading arrest at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday. Police followed the car eastbound on the Garden Grove Freeway and attempted to stop it for a traffic violation near Harbor Boulevard. The driver initially pulled over to the shoulder but drove off just as the officer stopped. A chase ensued, and the suspect lost control of the vehicle, hit a pole, struck a freeway sign and skidded to a stop; he was unhurt.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* 5th Street: A man called police about 6 a.m. Monday to report that a woman had been following him as he walked in the 200 block, and it was “freaking” him out.
IRVINE
* Auto Center Drive: Someone allegedly stole four Honda Civic rims and tires worth $1,400 from an auto dealer; reported at 8:34 a.m. Monday.
LAGUNA BEACH
* 9th Street at South Coast Highway: A dead seal was found at 11:02 a.m. Sunday.
LAGUNA HILLS
* South Point Road: A locked business in the 23400 block had $3,500 in computers and supplies stolen between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 4:30 a.m. Monday. There was no sign of forced entry.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Seaport: Two men and two juveniles were arrested for putting soap in a Jacuzzi in the 30 block at 4 a.m. Saturday.
LAGUNA WOODS
* El Toro at Calle Sonora: A person was cited for reckless driving at 9:04 p.m. April 1.
LA HABRA
* West Imperial Highway: Report of an auto theft in the 1900 block at 8:55 p.m. Friday.
LAKE FOREST
* Saguaro at Raton: Report of an abandoned vehicle at 6:42 p.m. Sunday.
LA PALMA
* Rampart Lane: Some jewelry and a handgun were reported stolen from a residence in the 7300 block between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday. The resident also reported a strange chemical smell in the home and a greasy substance on the front door.
LOS ALAMITOS
* Rochelle Street: Graffiti vandals left a trail of footsteps in white paint up and down a sidewalk near Denwood Avenue; reported at 7:33 a.m. Sunday.
MISSION VIEJO
* Oso Parkway at Marguerite Parkway: A reckless driver was cited at 12:32 p.m. Sunday.
NEWPORT BEACH
* Von Karmen Avenue: Police arrested a suspect on charges of assault with a deadly weapon in the 4300 block Sunday.
ORANGE
* The City Drive: Four males armed with semiautomatic handguns robbed a jewelry salesman in a parking lot at The Block at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The victim was conducting business at The Block and was walking to his car when the suspects approached him. They stole $250,000 worth of finished jewelry and fled in their vehicle. Police said they are looking for four Asian males who wore puffy dark parkas, baseball caps and jeans.
PLACENTIA
* West Orangethorpe Avenue: Report of a commercial burglary in the 800 block at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday; credit card receipts were stolen from a Beacon gas station.
SAN CLEMENTE
* El Camino Real South: A robbery alarm in the 2000 block was triggered at 8:29 a.m. Monday.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
* Silver Creek Drive: A robbery alarm in the 27000 block was triggered at 7:44 p.m. Monday.
SANTA ANA
* Garnsey Street at McFadden Avenue: A parolee led police through neighborhood streets for nearly an hour about noon Wednesday. Authorities caught him and took him into custody. It was unknown what the man had been on parole for. He allegedly had been under the influence during the chase.
SEAL BEACH
* College Park Drive: A fanny pack containing a wallet and credit cards was reported stolen from a parked vehicle inside an open garage at 9:33 a.m. Saturday.
STANTON
* Katella Avenue: Report of a suspicious vehicle in the 7000 block at 2:19 a.m. Monday.
TUSTIN
* West Main Street: A wedding ring and $1,000 cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 600 block at 7:18 p.m. Sunday.
VILLA PARK
* Villa Park Road at Center Drive: Report of a vehicle stop at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
WESTMINSTER
* Revere Drive: A Special Weapons and Tactics team converged on a home in the 14000 block Tuesday afternoon after police received a call from a woman who said a man inside the house was threatening to kill himself. Authorities tried several times to make contact with the man but eventually learned that he had passed out from alcohol. The man’s mother was inside the house with him. When the man regained consciousness, he denied that he wanted to commit suicide. The SWAT team was called off about 4:30 p.m. No one was injured.
YORBA LINDA
* Yorba Linda Boulevard: Report of a petty theft in the 20900 block at 3:58 p.m. Monday.

* Journey: A robbery alarm in the 100 block was triggered at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday.
