The City Council this week approved a $190,273 budget to hire RJM Design Group to prepare a master development plan for Regency and Normandale Community Park. The plan is necessary for the actual creation of the park and the potential closure of Regency Lane. The money will go toward a study of the road closure’s effect on traffic, a full environmental analysis of the proposed project and a funding strategy to analyze the potential sale, lease or trade of city-owned land to assist with park development costs. The project area--two park sites, a county-owned open space area and surrounding property--makes up a total of 122 acres.
