Man Tied Up, Robbed During Home Invasion
CANYON COUNTRY — A 19-year-old man became the victim of a home invasion robbery Friday morning, authorities said.
Tyler Pope was awakened by raps on the door of his condo in the 18000 block of Saratoga Way. Four to six men wearing ski masks pushed their way past Pope, ordered him to the ground and started ransacking the condominium, said Sgt. Howard Fairchild of the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station.
One of the robbers struck Pope in the face, but he was not seriously injured. They took an unspecified amount of cash, compact discs, video game equipment and other personal items, Fairchild said.
The suspects tied up Pope with an extension cord and put him in a closet. Pope freed himself after 30 minutes and called police, Fairchild said.
