Bryant Marvels at Rambis

Kobe Bryant sat at his locker after practice Saturday and kept chuckling at the scene: A handful of reporters, waiting for Coach Kurt Rambis to reappear and discuss the on-going, ever-flowing Dennis Rodman crisis.

Watching Rambis handle the situation over the last few weeks, Bryant said, has been quite illuminating.

“Every player’s different, every coach is different, too, as far as their philosophies go,” Bryant said. “Some coaches are old school, they’re going to treat everybody the same. Some coaches are different.

“Kurt, he’s adjusted to it pretty well. His job is tougher than anybody else’s. He’s doing all right.

“I’m glad I’m not in his shoes.”

Glen Rice attended but did not participate in practice Saturday, nursing a sprained left ankle, and he is listed as day-to-day.
