Nonprofit Groups to Hold Networking Day at CSUN
About 35 nonprofit organizations with paying jobs as well as volunteer positions will participate in the first “Nonprofit Networking Day” on Monday at Cal State Northridge.
The event, sponsored by the university’s Career Center, will include organizations looking for full- and part-time employees as well as interns and volunteers. The Arthritis Foundation, Planned Parenthood, American Red Cross, Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Hathaway Children’s Services and World Children’s Transplant Fund are among the agencies expected to participate.
There are more than 50,000 nonprofit organizations in Southern California, including 10,000 in Los Angeles County, so the job market is there, said Jan Potzmann, coordinator of nonprofit relations for the Career Center.
“With government making changes, nonprofits are going to be picking up the slack,” Potzmann said.
The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union, near the center of campus, at 18111 Nordhoff St. Parking is $1.75.
