Los Angeles County Test Scores
The table below gives a snapshot of how school districts in Los Angeles County performed on this year’s statewide standardized test. Eighty districts are listed in alphabetical order. The first column contains the district’s 1999 composite score calculated by The Times. It is an average of the scores for all grade levels on the reading, math and language test batteries. The second column shows the district’s 1998 composite. Based on the 1999 composite, the 80 districts are ranked against one another in the third column. The fourth column gives each district’s rank among the 977 districts in the state that had scores reported. Finally, the last column contains the percentage of tested students who were classified as being limited English-proficient.
