VEBA Loses Top Officer of Second Subsidiary
In the second high-level departure in as many months from Irvine-based subsidiaries of VEBA Electronics, the head of Wyle Electronics has resigned to take another position at another technology company, VEBA said Wednesday.
Michael Rohleder had been named chief executive of Wyle Electronics almost immediately after the semiconductor distributor was acquired by VEBA in August, 1997. He will become senior vice president and director of worldwide sales and marketing at Phoenix-based ON Semiconductor LLC, a recent spinoff from Motorola Inc.
His resignation from Wyle Electronics becomes effective at the end of this month.
ON Semiconductor was, and continues to be, a major supplier to Wyle Electronics, company officials said.
Last month, Josh Napua left as chief executive of Irvine-based Wyle Systems, a sister company of Wyle Electronics to join competitor Avnet Inc. in Phoenix. He was replaced by William McMahon Jr.
