The La Habra Fire Department will hold a ceremony at 2 p.m. today to recognize the promotions of five men.
Andrew Grzywa, a firefighter and paramedic since 1985, is being promoted to captain. Grzywa has determined the causes of more than 1,500 fires during his tenure as an arson investigator and instructor. La Habra Firefighters Assn. President Paul Lombardo, a six-year veteran with the department, is being promoted to captain as well. Dennis Clark, a firefighter since 1994, is being promoted to engineer, and Capt. Ed Saldana, a 32-year veteran, and Chuck Flack, a 19-year veteran, will be promoted to battalion chiefs.

Fire causes--A Focus item Friday provided an incorrect assessment of arson investigator Andrew Grzywa’s track record in determining the causes of fires. Grzywa says the correct number is 500.
The department also will welcome recently hired firefighters Dan Johnson and Richard Flores. All seven men will be given their badges of new rank in the City Council chambers at La Habra City Hall, 201 E. La Habra Blvd. Information: (562) 905-9794.
