The City Council will award a design contract for the McGaugh swimming pool at its next meeting, initiating the bid process for the refurbishment of the 32-year-old outdoor pool.
The project will include repairs, replastering, new tiles and new lights. It is estimated to cost $130,000, of which the city has contributed $15,000. The rest has been raised from private funds.
The refurbishment is expected to be complete by December, but until work begins in mid-October, the pool will be open and passes can be bought at City Hall.
The council meets at City Hall, 211 8th St. at 5 p.m. Monday.
