Valley Women

* Because I had to meet with my house painters and then run off to my 7:30 a.m. YMCA board of directors meeting before going into my office, I did not get a chance to read The Times until 2 p.m. over lunch at my desk. While reading Ross Hopkins’ comments, I was surprised to learn that the various bumper stickers, thank-you letters and other political paraphernalia in my office all were received because my husband is so politically active.

Contrary to Hopkins’ beliefs, women in the San Fernando Valley do contribute to political campaigns, we do sit on boards (some that meet morning, noon and night) and age is not a factor. We often make decisions on political giving in partnership with our mates, yet we make many of our decisions as individuals. Maybe it is just that Hopkins has yet to be associated with any of these remarkable Valley women.
