Najee Ali
* Re “Expulsion Demanded for Student Involved in Fatal Fight,” Nov. 30: Palmdale resident Rick Norris unfairly accused Najee Ali and his Project Islamic Hope group of trying to make a racial issue out of the Palmdale school tragedy. It happened that both the victim and Ali are black.
I have personally worked with Ali on numerous cases. His motivation has always been social justice. His actions were never propelled by racial bias. In one famous case, he helped an Orange County Afghani immigrant family, who are Caucasian by racial classification, get an arrest against the accused African American killer of their young son.
Norris owes Ali an apology.
