HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Huntington Beach Tree Society received two grants for their tree-planting program from the California ReLeaf 2000 Tree Planting Grant Program and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The first grant of $4,160 will be used to buy and plant 84 trees at Seacliff Elementary School. The tree planting is scheduled for Jan. 19. The second grant, for $2,663, will be used for educational materials to increase the public’s awareness of the benefits of trees and proper tree care.
