SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
Patients at the veterans hospital will be getting Valentine’s Day gifts in small packages from students at Palisades Elementary School. The children are designing cards that they will deliver to the veterans by Feb. 14. The school has been working on a series of community outreach projects and recently raised more than $1,000 for animal shelters. Principal Jayne Martin said these programs teach children how to be compassionate toward the less fortunate.
