Etiquette Lesson, Eagle Style
The resurgence of the bald eagle is drawing nature watchers to the rivers of the U.S. Northwest and Canada, where sightings are commonplace during the winter salmon runs. At times the birds put on quite a show, as is evident as two eagles battle for a fish on the Squamish River north of Vancouver, Canada. Experience wins out over youth in this fight. A recent eagle count found more than 1,800 of the birds on the Squamish. Bald eagles also are on the comeback in Southern California mountains.
