After being closed since last summer, the northbound Santa Ana Freeway onramps and offramps at Harbor Boulevard will reopen today, giving motorists easier access into the resort area and surrounding streets. Because of the traffic impact, Caltrans accelerated the project and the new ramps were completed four months ahead of schedule, agency officials said.

“Businesses and residents around the resort area will definitely benefit from this early opening,” Assistant City Manager Tom Wood said. He added that the accelerated opening shows the cooperative relationship among the city and state and local transportation agencies to reduce impacts on the public.

The southbound onramps and offramps at Harbor are scheduled to open in August. The ramp upgrades are part of the $1.1-billion freeway improvements through Anaheim, Fullerton and Buena Park. Improvements are expected to be completed in late 2000. Information: (949) 724-2077.
