From This Day Forth, Live Long and Prosper
As it turns out, the final frontier is not space but matrimony. Three lucky couples will boldly go where no bride and groom have gone before when they get married today on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, or the next best thing, anyway--the Starship Enterprise bridge that is part of Star Trek: The Experience, an amusement park-type ride at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Following the ceremonies, which will be conducted in English rather than Klingon or Ferengi, Neil Norman and his Cosmic Orchestra will perform. Tim Russ, who plays Tuvok on the “Star Trek: Voyager” television show, will provide vocals.
Joanne Modlin and Marshal Rosenthal of Los Angeles, one of the three couples to marry Star Trek-style, approach their 24th century wedding as a joyous event with a little something exotic added--something they can tell their grandchildren and brag about at reunions. Both will be dressed in traditional 20th century outfits for the ceremony. However, guests of their choice--alien or human--may be dressed in Starfleet uniforms.
Included in the wedding package are “intergalactic” flowers, a selection of Star Trek observers, and his and hers Star Trek watches.
