Then-Gov. Pete Wilson helped break ground for Chapman University’s technology center 17 months ago, and he’ll be back Tuesday to help open the doors.
The $15-million information technology building will be named Arnold and Mabel Beckman Business & Technology Hall. It will be home to the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics, which will have its own naming ceremony Tuesday. The center will also house the department of computer science and math.
Argyros, a 1959 graduate of Chapman and chairman of the university’s board of trustees, will join Wilson at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony naming the business school in his honor.
Following that will be the dedication of Beckman Hall, a “state-of-the-art” technology center, university officials said. Nearby residents should be able to see the fireworks that will follow the two ceremonies at the university, 333 N. Glassell St. Information: (714) 997-6607.
