Man Kills Self After Shooting His Parents, Police Say

RIVERSIDE —  A 22-year-old man shot both his parents Saturday morning before turning the gun on himself while fleeing police, authorities said.

Riverside police say Long Pham shot his father, Son Pham, 51, and his mother, Dung Tran, 49, in their home on Shadowood Street before driving away in the family car. The father died less than two hours later at Riverside Community Hospital, police said. The mother was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

About 30 minutes later, police spotted Long Pham driving in nearby Moreno Valley. They followed, and Pham shot himself in the head while still driving the car, police said. Pham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they have not discovered a motive for the shootings.
