A Big Loss, in Hines’ Sight
Rico Hines, a part-time starter and a full-time team leader, will be sidelined four to six weeks because of a fractured right foot he apparently has been playing on for some time.
A return closer to the six-week timeline, which the Bruins say is more likely, means Hines would have a couple of weeks to play before the postseason.
The sophomore swingman has started six of 14 games, averaging 16 minutes per game, but he played only four minutes during last week’s two-game Oregon trip, leaving the court for good after his foot was stepped on Saturday at Oregon.
X-rays taken after the team’s return to Los Angeles showed the injury.
