Xircom Inc. to Launch Sales Office in Florida

Xircom Inc. in Thousand Oaks said it will increase its focus on the Latin American market by opening a sales and marketing office in St. Petersburg, Fla.

“Xircom’s investment in Latin America enables us to strengthen our regional presence as the notebook communications experts for the rapidly growing corporate, government and education segments of the market,” said Marc Devis, senior vice president of worldwide sales.

Hector de la Canal, president of Xircom distributor On Line Service in Mexico, said that more than 20,000 students at Monterrey Technology College, on 27 campuses in Mexico, already have Xircom PC Cards installed in their notebook computers.

Xircom has distributors in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay and has been selling mobile data communications devices in Latin American and Caribbean countries for five years.
