Travel Challenge Awaits
The Bruins don’t even get to recover at home.
After losing to Stanford on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion in a game they had been looking forward to for weeks, the Bruins now play four consecutive road contests.
One may only officially be an away game--at the Sports Arena--but it also adds to the back-and-forth schedule.
They play the four games in three different states:
The Bruins are at USC on Wednesday. Friday, they travel to Louisville, Ky., play the Cardinals the next afternoon, then return home.
They head back out the next Wednesday, going first to Pullman to play Washington State on Thursday, then spend the better part of three days in Seattle before playing Washington in a 12:30 start on Super Bowl Sunday.
“I told our guys we don’t have time to get bitter,” Coach Steve Lavin said. “We have to get better.
“It presents another great opportunity to test the character and mental toughness of our team. But what I like about them is they always seem to respond to whatever challenge is before them.”
