Toyota to Boost Price of Camry, Other Models
Toyota Motor Corp. said the U.S. sticker price of its 2000-model Camry sedan, the top-selling car in America, will rise by an average of 2.2%, or $441. Taking into account the cost of new standard equipment such as upgraded engines, audio systems, wheels and tires, the actual increase will be 0.5%, or $104. The price of the Camry Solara sport coupe will also rise, by an average of 1.7%. Prices for the Corolla compact sedan will increase by 1.2%, and the sticker price of the Sienna minivan will rise an average of 1.7%. The prices from Toyota, Japan’s largest auto maker, were its first released for the 2000-model year. They follow mostly flat U.S. pricing for all models announced by Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler.
