Call Goes Out for Miracle Workers
The congregants of First Christian Church of Garden Grove are expecting a miracle on Sept. 18. Hundreds of volunteers are scheduled to converge on the church to help renovate it.
The church at 11231 Chapman Ave. is one of three in the state chosen as sites for “Miracle Day,” an effort to help churches with maintenance and physical needs.
The renovation needed at the church includes painting the building’s interior and exterior and installing new flooring and carpeting. Those able to donate materials or time are encouraged to attend the event, which begins at 7 a.m. and lasts all day.
The event is sponsored by the National Benevolent Assn., an organization that provides help to needy churches in its denomination.
Those interested in helping may get information by calling the church at (714) 534-3965 or by leaving a message at (714) 636-1380.
