ANGLES THE WEEK AHEAD
TODAY
VS. MINNESOTA
* Schedule: 7:30 p.m.
* Television: Fox Sports West
* Radio: KLAC (570), XPRS (1090)
* Pitching matchup: Chuck Finley (3-5, 5.15 ERA) vs. Brad Radke (4-4, 3.82)
* Last year’s series: The Angels won six of 11 games, winning the series for the second time in eight seasons. Finley went 1-1 with a 1.20 ERA last year, striking out 15 in 15 innings, and closer Troy Percival converted all five save opportunities, giving up one hit in 4 2/3 innings.
* About the Twins: With few exceptions--pitchers Brad Radke and Mike Trombley, catcher Terry Steinbach, infielders Ron Coomer and Todd Walker and outfielders Marty Cordova and Matt Lawton--this is a Triple-A team masquerading as a big-league team. Radke is the most exceptional of the exceptions, as the Angels can testify; he’s 7-1 with a 1.57 ERA against them.

June 6, 1961: Lee Thomas hits the first grand slam in club history--off Baltimore’s Milt Pappas in a 7-3 victory.
