DMV Worker Pleads Not Guilty to Soliciting Sex
LOS ANGELES — A Department of Motor Vehicles employee from the West Covina office pleaded not guilty Thursday to soliciting sex from a woman and an underage girl in exchange for passing grades on their driving tests.
Prosecutors allege Timothy Rene Lee, 40, also used the agency’s computers to access the personal DMV records of a number of other women.
Lee is charged, among other counts, with requesting a bribe, unauthorized access to computer data and unlawful sexual intercourse.
Prosecutors recommended $200,000 bail for Lee. But Los Angeles Municipal Judge Kevin L. Brown set bail at $50,000--which Lee later posted--after determining the defendant was not a flight risk, officials said.
