BASEBALL
* Twenty high school baseball players from the Southern, Los Angeles and San Diego sections will take on a team from the state’s northern sections in the 30th annual California State All-Star Series tonight through Sunday at Cal State Fullerton.
Seven players from Orange County will be on the South team: Randy Blood (Calvary Chapel), 2B; Matt Gay (Cypress), C; Ty Harper (Corona del Mar), 1B/P; Mike Martinez (Katella), P/OF; Drew McMillan (El Dorado), C; Greg Schwenn (Los Alamitos), P; Chad Sterbens (Calvary Chapel), SS. Joe Walters of Calvary Chapel will be one of the South’s coaches.
Game times are 7 tonight and Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
* The third annual South County High School Baseball All-Star games, featuring graduating seniors from the Century, Pacific Coast, Sea View, South Coast leagues, are Sunday at the Windrow Community Park in Irvine.
Among those scheduled to play are Eric Bowden (Trabuco Hills), Jason Corapci (Canyon), Jeff Goodman (San Clemente), Ty Harper (Corona del Mar), Ryan Johnson (Laguna Hills), Matt Kustura (Mission Viejo), Jeff LaRue (Santa Margarita), Josue Lopez (El Toro), Nick Lovato (Mater Dei), Reuben Mancilla (Costa Mesa) and Eric Wiethorn (Corona del Mar).
The first game between the Sea View and Century players is at 3:30 p.m. Game 2 between the Pacific Coast and South Coast players starts at 7:15 p.m.
