Employees at Tinseltown Studios have voted to join a union affiliated with the AFL-CIO. After protesters in April alleged unfair labor practices at the entertainment venue, select employees voted in a National Labor Relations Board election to join the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts, a union based in New York City. At the time of the protest, Tinseltown general manager Ron Drake said that employees received an average of $1 more an hour than employees working under union contracts.
