Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Community Services Department is offering a class on “Violin and the World of Music” on Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 6-29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Santa Ana College, 1530 W. 17th St. The class is designed for students 8 years and older. Participants will learn bowing techniques, proper posture, correct fingering principles, note reading and musical notation, plus musical theory, music reading and music history. The class fee is $95; students should furnish their own violin, though rental options will be discussed at the first class meeting. Information and registration: (714) 480-7390.
