The Simi Valley Democratic Club will host a public forum tonight featuring candidates running in the March primary.

Participants will include Democrats Michael Case and Daniel R. Gonzalez, who have said they will challenge U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley); Jon Lauritzen, who is running in the 38th Assembly District, and Mindy Yaras, who is running for a Moorpark school board seat.

“Candidates will say what they are about and answer any questions that the audience members might have,” said Grace Bernstein, vice president of the Simi Valley Democratic Club. “They will speak on current issues and what they stand for.”

This is the first time the Simi Valley Democratic Club has invited candidates for an open forum, Bernstein said.

“They’re important races, so I think the community would benefit from meeting them and hearing them,” she said.

The forum is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.
