A Myth-tifying Site for Urban Legend Fans

We’ve all heard the myths about cow tipping and alligators in the sewer system, but for even more obscure urban lore you may want to take a look at https://www.urbanlegends.com.

The site both tells and debunks stories concerning celebrities, songs, animals and many other topics. In the Frequently Posted Legends section, we learn that a penny falling from the top of the Empire State Building will not embed itself in the pavement, and that two snowflakes may, in fact, be alike. There is also some speculation about the middle name of Capt. James T. Kirk.

However, everything posted here is suspect, including the existence of the site itself, according to something called the Dredged Report. And items listed under AFU (alt.folklore.urban) Inc. seem more like complex jokes than anything else.

By the way, just for the record, Capt. James T. Kirk’s middle name is Tiberius.
