Edwards Will Open Cineplex in Long Beach

Newport Beach-based Edwards Theatres will build and operate a 15-screen theater at Queensway Bay, a $150-million entertainment and shopping complex adjacent to downtown Long Beach. The 3,440-seat theater will be housed in two buildings that will overlook a town plaza in the 20-acre project, which is being developed by San Diego-based DDR Oliver McMillan. Queensway Bay will occupy now-vacant land that separates downtown Long Beach from Rainbow Harbor and the recently opened Aquarium of the Pacific. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2001.
