ANGELS
The Angels announced that they will have six games on Spanish-language television station KVEA (Channel 52). Friday’s exhibition against the Dodgers on KVEA will be the first Spanish telecast in Angel franchise history.
On Saturday, the Angels play host to Aguascalientes in another exhibition, the first time a Mexican League team will play a major league team in a big league ballpark.
“This is another step--a very big step--to expand our reach into the Hispanic marketplace,” said Bob Wagner, Angel vice president of advertising sales and broadcasting. “It exposes pure product to the Spanish-language audience, which will hopefully get them to come to the ballpark.”
