FYI
Los Angeles requires brush clearance to prevent a fire, and to give firefighters the necessary space to put one out. Among the major requirements:
* Grass, weeds and native brush must be cleared within 200 feet of all structures and 10 feet of roadways.
* Grass and weeds must be cut to 3 inches and be kept 10 feet from combustible fences, highways, streets, alleys and driveways.
* Tree branches must be trimmed six feet from the ground and five feet from any roof.
The requirements apply to mountain and adjacent areas.
