Judith D. King has been named Cal State Fullerton’s new chief of police/director of public safety, effective May 17. King, an 18-year police veteran, will oversee a force of 20 sworn officers and a budget of about $1.1 million. The Irvine resident comes to the university from Cal State Long Beach, where she was assistant director of public safety and previously served three years as lieutenant of operations. King succeeds William D. Huffman, who retired after 19 years with the university.
