Councilman Bert Hack’s plans to speak before the state’s Local Government Committee in Sacramento on Wednesday about the proposed El Toro airport were canceled when Assemblywoman Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) pulled her two anti-airport bills from the group’s consideration Tuesday. Sensing certain rejection, Bates shelved the legislation in order to seek more support for it. Both bills will now have to wait until at least January for discussion.
