Woman Killed in Possible Domestic Dispute
SUN VALLEY — A domestic argument at an apartment complex on Saturday morning left one woman dead and a man injured, police said.
Police responding to a call of an attempted suicide about 11 a.m. found the body of a woman, 35 to 40 years old, inside an apartment at 8649 Sunland Blvd., said Lt. Rick Papke, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division. She had been stabbed several times.
After searching the area, police found a man, also 35 to 40 years old, who had fallen from a walkway in front of the second-story apartment into the courtyard below, Papke said.
The man had been injured in the fall and was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The man’s condition could not be determined Saturday.
Once at the hospital, the man was arrested on suspicion of murder, Papke said.
“It appears this was a domestic violence incident,” Papke said. “We think the suspect at the hospital is the suspect who stabbed the victim.”
The man was conscious when police arrived and made a statement, said Papke, declining to elaborate.
Police did not release the identity of either the victim or the man.
