Don’t Dismiss the Benefits of Vaccinations

Re “A Shot in the Dark” (Oct. 18): I found this article inflammatory and unbalanced.

It is not until one turns the page before any information regarding the tremendous benefits and the relative risks of the vaccines are addressed.

Where do you quote parents whose children died because they chose not to have their children vaccinated? Where are these parents’ heart-rending stories to balance those whose children have other problems?

Parents need to know that when a child dies from whooping cough (pertussis) or from measles or any other vaccine-preventable disease, that death is a tragedy.
