Utah Puts Away Long Beach, 3-1

In their first meeting since the teams’ melee Oct. 9, the Utah Grizzlies beat the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 3-1, Wednesday in front of 4,160 at Long Beach Arena.
Long Beach’s Dieter Kalt cut Utah’s lead to 2-1 at 12:46 of the second period with his fifth goal of the year, assisted by Robb Gordon and Ole Kjenstad.
But Utah went up, 3-1, in the third period on Brad Lauer’s power-play goal, assisted by Jarrod Skalde and Stewart Malgunas. Each team had 19 shots on goal.
