SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The city’s first gym officially opened its doors Wednesday with a kickoff ceremony that included a speech by Mayor John Greiner, a basketball clinic for the kids and free food.
The $1.5-million facility will feature three courts that can accommodate basketball, volleyball and badminton games, along with electronic scoreboards and retractable bleacher seating for fans.
It is expected to be used by youth and adult sports leagues as well as the public.
