The Bulldogs (9-1), seeded No. 4 in the Southern Section Division IV playoffs, host pass-happy Moorpark in the first round on Friday.

Quarterback Dylan McLaughlin threw 57 passes for Moorpark last week in a 24-22 loss to Lompoc.

“We haven’t seen 58 passes in four league games,” said Coach Rick Scott of Buena. “We’ve got to go back to old drills we kind of put away when we went into our league.

“We’ve got to kind of go back to the drawing board.”

The changes probably won’t be as radical as nickel and dime packages throughout the game.

“We started talking about things like that but we thought we played pretty well last week [in a 49-28 victory over Ventura],” Scott said. “We better keep things like we have them.”
