Clemson Back Shot in Head
Clemson running back Javis Austin was in critical condition Wednesday night after a gunshot wound to the head. He was admitted to the neuro-intensive care unit of the Anderson Area Regional Medical Center in Anderson, S.C., a hospital spokeswoman said.
The 911 call came in from Austin’s home about 6 p.m., a dispatcher from Anderson County Central Dispatch said. Details of the shooting were not immediately available.
The 21-year-old junior is a two-time letterman for Clemson. He started the first two games this season but has played in only three of the past eight. He has 120 yards in 36 carries over five games.
